Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport (1,338m)
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, where a Best Trips Nepal representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel. Relax or explore nearby streets. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 02: Stay in Kathmandu for Briefing and Sightseeing (1,338m)
After breakfast, visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. In the evening, attend a trek briefing and receive your trekking permits. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj (400m, 1 hour)
Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, enjoying aerial views of the Himalayas. Transfer to your hotel and explore the town, located 3 km from the Indian border, known for its warm climate. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 04: Fly to Simikot (2,856m, 45 minutes) and Trek to Majgaon (2,856m, 2 hours)
Fly 45 minutes from Nepalgunj to Simikot, soaring over the Bheri River valley and Mahabharata hills. After immigration formalities, trek 2 hours to Majgaon, climbing to Simikot Lagna and descending into the Karnali gorge. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 05: Trek to Danda Karmi (2,856m, 5-6 hours)
Trek along the upper Karnali River valley, passing Toling and Dharapani villages and striking waterfalls. Ascend steadily to Danda Karmi, a Tibetan-influenced Humli village. Overnight at a tented camp.

Day 06: Trek to Yalbang Chaur (2,800m, 6 hours)
Descend steeply from Danda Karmi to the Sali Khola, a scenic stream through forests. Continue to Yalbang Chaur, a wide meadow by the river, ideal for camping. Overnight at a tented camp.

Day 07: Trek to Tumkot (2,800m, 6 hours)
Trek to Yalbang village, passing Toothpaling Monastery or taking a lower route to Yankhar. Continue 3 hours along the Karnali River, descending gently past Muchu Bridge to Tumkot. Camp by the stream. Overnight at a tented camp.

Day 08: Trek to Yari (3,450m, 6 hours)
Trek through the Karnali gorge toward Yari, the last Nepali village before Nara La Pass. Climb gradually up the mountainside, camping by a stream near Yari’s houses. Overnight at a tented camp.

Day 09: Trek to Nara Pass (4,325m, 6-7 hours)
Cross Nara La Pass (4,325m), marked by prayer flags and stone piles, offering sweeping views. Descend abruptly to the Karnali River, following narrow ridges to a flat camping area near a bridge. Overnight at a tented camp.

Day 10: Drive to Taklakot (3,500m, 3-4 hours)
Trek to Sher, a small Tibetan village, then follow a gravel track to Kocher, home to Kochernath Gompa. Board a bus or lorry to Taklakot, a Tibetan trading hub. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 11: Drive to Darchen (4,500m, 4-5 hours)
Drive to Darchen, the base camp for Mount Kailash, a small settlement of stone houses at the southern slopes of the sacred mountain. Explore the mix of nomads and locals. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 12: Trek to Dri-Ra Phunk Gompa (4,900m, 5-6 hours)
Trek up the Lha Chu valley from Darchen, passing Tarpachan and enjoying distant views of Mount Kailash and Chugu Gompa. Reach Dri-Ra Phunk, camping opposite the lone monastery. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 13: Trek to Zuthul Phunk Monastery (4,700m, 6 hours)
Ascend steadily to Dorma La Pass, marked by a huge rock adorned with prayer flags, the highest point of the Kailash circuit. Descend past Gauri Kund Lake to Zuthul Phunk, a cave monastery along the Dzong Chu River. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 14: Trek to Darchen (4,500m, 4-5 hours)
Visit Zuthul Phunk’s cave monastery, a meditation retreat of Saint Milarepa. Trek down the valley to Darchen, completing the Kailash circuit. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 15: Drive to Manasarovar Lake (4,558m, 1-2 hours)
Drive to Chiu Gompa, a sacred site by Manasarovar Lake, revered as Guru Padma Sambhava’s resting place. Enjoy views of Mount Kailash’s white dome. Camp near Chiu Gompa. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 16: Rest Day at Manasarovar Lake (4,558m)
Rest and explore Manasarovar Lake, visiting the lake’s shores up to Chiu Gompa and Horchu. Enjoy the serene, spiritual atmosphere. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 17: Drive to Thrugu Gompa (4,600m, 2-3 hours)
Walk 1 hour from Chiu Gompa to Seralung Monastery, then drive to Thrugu Gompa, setting up a tented camp. Visit the historic monastery in the evening. Overnight at a tented camp.

Day 18: Drive to Chiu Gompa Camp (4,558m, 2-3 hours)
Drive to Gosul Gompa, then walk 2-3 hours to Chiu Gompa, where Best Trips Nepal staff will have set up a tented camp. Relax at a nearby hot spring (small fee applies). Overnight at a tented camp.

Day 19: Drive to Dzongba or New Dzongba (4,500m, 5-6 hours)
Drive 5-6 hours along scenic landscapes, passing Manisar, Payang, and the Brahmaputra River, with high passes above 5,200m and Nepal’s mountains to the right. Reach Dzongba or New Dzongba. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 20: Drive to Pilku Tso Lake (4,700m, 4-5 hours)
Drive through stunning scenery, passing Saga and crossing the Brahmaputra River. Camp near Pilku Tso Lake, close to Mount Shishapangma (8,013m), with a 15-minute walk to the lake. Alternatively, drive 3-4 hours to Dzangmu. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 21: Drive to Kyuirung (2,700m, 5-6 hours)
Drive via Thong La Pass (5,100m), enjoying views of Shishapangma and Rolwaling peaks. Pass Milarepa’s Cave and descend through greenery to Nyalam (3,782m) and Kyuirung. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 22: Return to Kathmandu (1,338m, 9 hours)
Drive 9 hours from Kyuirung to Kathmandu, crossing the Nepal-Tibet border and witnessing Nepal’s diverse landscapes. Relax or shop in Thamel upon arrival. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 23: Departure to Your Destination
