Following extensive research and development by the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN), the area is now equipped with teahouses and lodges, transitioning from its former camping-only status.

This trek traverses multiethnic villages nestled in the foothills of the majestic Ganesh Himal range. Named after the revered Hindu deity Ganesha, the region is steeped in spiritual significance, believed to bestow prosperity and good fortune.

Trekkers will navigate diverse landscapes, including grassy meadows like Pang Sang Pass and Sing La Pass, dense forests, and traditional villages. The trail offers panoramic views of peaks such as Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Manaslu, and Gaurishankar.

Day to Day Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, a representative from Best Trips Nepal will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.

We drive from Kathmandu to Salangkhu Khola via Trisuli, enjoying views of terraced hills and rivers. After lunch, we begin our short trek to Balche, a beautiful Tamang village surrounded by green hills.

We ascend gradually through lush forests of rhododendron and pine, enjoying occasional mountain views. Gonga is a peaceful forest camp where we rest for the night.

We take a well-deserved rest day at Gonga to acclimatize to the higher altitude. Optional short hikes around the area offer excellent views of the Ganesh Himal range.

We climb up to Singla, a viewpoint with panoramic vistas of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, and even Manaslu on clear days. The route is filled with alpine flora and wildlife.

Descending through forests and terraced fields, we reach the charming village of Serthung. The local Tamang culture and hospitality here are deeply enriching.

The trail today takes us through scenic countryside and small hamlets until we arrive at Laba, a small, picturesque village offering insights into traditional rural life.

We continue through a mix of forest and farmlands, eventually arriving at Mongeythanti, a remote settlement ideal for observing local farming practices.

Our trail meanders down to Dumchet, a serene location near the Budhi Gandaki River. This is a great place for birdwatching and enjoying peaceful nature.

Today, we follow the Budhi Gandaki River through terraced hills and small settlements, gaining a closer look at riverside life and traditional agriculture.

We descend toward the busy trading town of Arughat, where the warm climate and bustling atmosphere provide a sharp contrast to the remote areas we just passed.

We leave Arughat and drive to Khanchowk, a cultural hub nestled in the hills. This area offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains.

Today we hike to the historic town of Gorkha, the birthplace of King Prithvi Narayan Shah and home to the famous Gorkha Durbar palace.

After breakfast, we take a scenic drive back to Kathmandu, passing through rolling hills and rural villages. Once in the city, enjoy a hot shower and a farewell dinner.
