Description
The Annapurna Dhaulagiri Khair Lake Trek is a captivating adventure that traverses the heart of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Starting from Pokhara, the trail meanders through lush rhododendron forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages like Ghandruk and Ghorepani.
A highlight of this trek is the ascent to Khair Lake (4,620m), a sacred alpine lake revered by Hindus and Buddhists alike. The journey to the lake offers breathtaking views of peaks such as Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre.
The route also includes a visit to Poon Hill (3,210m), renowned for its sunrise vistas over the Himalayas. Throughout the trek, accommodations are in comfortable teahouses, providing an authentic Nepali experience.
This moderate trek is best undertaken during spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) when the weather is clear, and the mountain views are at their finest.
