The Rolwaling Trek is a remote and adventurous expedition through the rugged landscapes of eastern Nepal, offering trekkers a rare glimpse into traditional Sherpa culture and some of the most spectacular Himalayan vistas. This 22-day journey takes you through pristine forests, high alpine meadows, and across challenging passes, culminating at the base of Mt. Everest and the sacred Gaurishankar massif. The trek is perfect for serious trekkers seeking solitude, stunning natural beauty, and a cultural experience off the beaten path. Along the way, you’ll pass through ancient monasteries, traditional Sherpa villages, and rugged terrain rarely frequented by tourists, making this trek a truly unique adventure.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our Nepali representatives will welcome you and provide a briefing about the trek. You will be transferred to your hotel to rest overnight.
After breakfast, explore the cultural highlights of Kathmandu Valley: visit Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) with panoramic views, Boudhanath Stupa—the second largest in the world—and the famous Hindu Pashupatinath Temple. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Travel 133 km from Kathmandu to Charikot, the gateway to Rolwaling, with stunning views of Gaurishankar peak. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Start trekking along the river side with scenic forest trails.
Continue trekking through villages with mixed ethnic groups amid rich flora and fauna.
Pass gravel paths, cross streams and forests filled with rhododendrons and orchids before reaching Singati.
Continue trekking deeper into the valley.
Cross the Koshi River, climb to Dhunge Patti, trek through Pisker and Jaljale before arriving in Jagat.
Trek approx. 7.5 hours with flat and hilly terrains through forests and villages inhabited by Hindus and Buddhists.
Ascend towards Daldung La pass with beautiful views.
Reach Beding (3653 m), a peaceful mountain village where you’ll rest.
Trek to Na, a summer meadow below Kang Nachugo (6735 m) with great views of Chobutse peak.
Rest to acclimatize or explore Na village and surroundings.
Descend through forests, enjoy glimpses of Gaurishankar.
Retrace your steps passing streams and villages back to Jagat.
Continue through terraced fields and forests to Singati.
We'll continue our trek till danda kharka and call it a day.
Today’s trek takes you from Danda Kharka to the quiet village of Dhunge.
Progress further through traditional villages and diverse landscapes.
Return by bus from Jiri to Kathmandu.
