Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1,360m)
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, where a Best Trips Nepal representative will welcome you and transfer you to a Thamel hotel. Spend the day relaxing or exploring the vibrant city. Enjoy a welcome dinner in the evening. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,827m) and Trek to Phakding (2,640m, 3-4 hours)
Take a 40-minute scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla’s Tenzing Hillary airstrip. Begin trekking, descending to the Dudh Koshi River and following an easy trail past Ghat village (2,550m) to Phakding, just above Chaunrikharka (2,713m). Trek 3-4 hours. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m, 5-6 hours)
Trek from Phakding along the Dudh Koshi River, ascending gently to Jorsale. Pass through forests of rhododendrons, firs, and magnolias, crossing bridges and climbing steeply through the forest to Namche Bazaar, the Khumbu capital. Enjoy Himalayan views. Trek 5-6 hours. Overnight at Yeti Mountain Home.

Day 04: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
Rest in Namche for acclimatization, taking a short hike to Khumjung or Khunde villages to visit schools and monasteries. Marvel at the Khumbu peaks, including Everest, from this thriving village in a sheltered hollow. Explore Namche’s markets and cafes. Overnight at Yeti Mountain Home.

Day 05: Trek to Thame (3,800m, 4-5 hours)

Day 08: Acclimatization Day in Kongde (4,250m, 3 hours)
Rest in Kongde, hiking 500m to Farak Ri (3 hours round trip) for stunning views of the Khumbu Valley, Everest, and peaks above 8,000m. Relax and soak in the serene high-altitude scenery. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 09: Trek to Phakding (2,640m, 6-7 hours)
Descend from Kongde to Phakding, passing Namche Bazaar and dramatic vistas of Sherpa villages, snow-capped peaks, and lush hills. Cross suspension bridges at Monjo and follow the Dudh Koshi River. Trek 6-7 hours. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 10: Trek to Lukla (2,827m, 6 hours)
Trek from Phakding along the Dudh Koshi River to Lukla, passing scenic trails and Sherpa settlements. The 6-hour trek concludes the mountain journey. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 11: Fly to Kathmandu (1,360m)
Board an early morning 40-minute flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, weather permitting, with aerial Himalayan views. Transfer to a Thamel hotel and spend the day relaxing. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 12: Sightseeing in Kathmandu (1,360m)
After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan Durbar Squares. Attend a final trek briefing in the afternoon. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 13: Transfer to Airport, Departure
