Overnight in Thimpu.
Day 02: Sightseeing of Thimpu Following a hearty breakfast in the morning, commence your sightseeing tour of Thimbu visiting the majestic Tashichhoe Dzong and the newly consecrated Tara Lhaden Zhingkham Lhakhang Temple and continue on to the gilded 51m tall golden Buddha and other architectural marvels, including the towering National Memorial Chorten. Your guide will provide you with the top choices for exploring attractions like the Folk Heritage Museum, the National Library with its extensive collection of ancient Buddhist texts, a traditional paper-making workshop, and the vibrant weekend markets that are bustling with people purchasing a variety of fresh produce, household items, crafts, and clothing. Make sure to meander through the bustling Thimphu’s main street, Norzin Lam, renowned for its shopping delights and the vibrant Craft Bazaar. Witness the breathtaking Dochu La pass at 3150m, marked by prayer flags and a chorten, with views of Mt. Gangapurnas (7520m). Enjoy the rhododendron and magnolia forests before reaching the tropical lowlands. Explore the historic Punakha Dzong, built in 1637, and stay overnight at Wangduephodrang.
Day 04: Drive Back to Paro (2200m) After savoring a hearty breakfast, you will commence on your journey to Paro, retracing the same scenic route. Day 05: Excursion to Taktsang Monastery (3134m) You’ll head to the base of the iconic Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger's Nest. This sacred site is believed to be one of the divine resting places of Guru Rinpoche. Although it once succumbed to flames, it has been lovingly restored. We'll stroll along a path that leads us to this monastery perched precariously on a cliff, some 800 meters above the valley. Afterward, you can also visit Kyochu Lhakhang and other attraction as such historical fortification at Durk Yul. You'll spend the night in Paro, ready for tomorrow's adventures.
