From there, you’ll be chauffeured to the world-renowned Dwarika’s Hotel, a luxurious oasis in the heart of the bustling city. The rest of the day is at your leisure, giving you time to recover from your journey and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Today, after a delectable breakfast, you’ll embark on a journey through Kathmandu’s cultural treasures. Your guided tour starts with a visit to Swayambhunath (also known as the Monkey Temple), a 2,000-year-old stupa perched high on a hill, offering panoramic views of the city. Next, wander through the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, home to ancient palaces, courtyards, and temples, including the residence of the Living Goddess, Kumari. Afterward, we’ll take a short drive to Patan, the city of fine arts, where you’ll explore Durbar Square, marvel at the exquisite craftsmanship of the Hiranyavarnam Mahavihara Temple, and witness artisans at work. By evening, return to Dwarika’s for a gourmet dinner, reflecting on the rich history you’ve explored today.
After a relaxing morning, you’ll take a short yet mesmerizing flight to Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurnas. On clear days, you’ll be treated to breathtaking aerial views of snow-capped peaks, rolling hills, and shimmering lakes. Once you touch down in Pokhara, our team will escort you to the stunning Mountain Glory Forest Resort & Spa, nestled amidst nature. The afternoon is all yours – perhaps take a stroll along the lively Lakeside area, indulge in local cuisine, or enjoy a serene boat ride on Fewa Lake as the mighty Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) Mountain watches over you
Today, the real adventure begins! After a hearty breakfast, we’ll drive from Pokhara to Lumle, a charming hill village and the starting point of our trek. From here, the trail winds gently through terraced fields, forests, and rustic villages. You’ll feel an immediate sense of tranquility as we leave the urban landscape behind and embrace the serenity of nature. After trekking for about 3 hours, we’ll descend towards the Modi River and arrive at Birethanti. Your stay for the night is at the Sanctuary Lodge, where you’ll be surrounded by the soothing sounds of the river and the fresh mountain air. Enjoy a farm-to-table dinner and relax in the cozy lodge atmosphere.
Prepare for a day filled with natural beauty as we ascend towards the charming village of Ghandruk, one of the most iconic stops on the Annapurna trail. The trail takes us through lush rhododendron forests, vibrant with colorful blooms (especially in the spring), and offers stunning glimpses of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. After a pleasant 4-hour walk, we’ll arrive in Ghandruk, a traditional Gurung village perched on the hillside. The welcoming smiles of the locals and the quaint stone houses create a postcard-perfect scene. After lunch, you’ll explore the Gurung Museum and the local Buddhist Monastery, or perhaps just soak in the views from the village. Tonight, you’ll stay at the beautifully situated Himalaya Lodge, where the sunset over the mountains will be the highlight of your day.
Today is all about slowing down and soaking in the wonders of Ghandruk. With no trekking scheduled, you’ll have plenty of time to dive deep into the local culture and the landscape that surrounds this stunning village. Wander through the village, visiting local homes and learning about the Gurung way of life. Ghandruk is also renowned for its panoramic views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre – spend the morning taking in these majestic vistas. After lunch, explore more of the village or simply relax with a cup of tea, as you breathe in the fresh mountain air. Your stay at Himalaya Lodge tonight ensures comfort amidst the wild beauty of the Himalayas.
Today’s trek takes us down to the Modi River, where we pass through the village of Kyumi, famous for its honey hunters who climb dizzying cliffs to collect honey from wild bees. After crossing a suspension bridge, we’ll climb gently towards Landruk, another peaceful Gurung village offering magnificent views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. It’s about a 4-hour walk, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the tranquility of the village in the afternoon.
